Pain is a response. Let's respond differently. How?

I wanted to talk about responding. How do we respond? Are we responding to our environment, circumstances, or God. How is our body responding. Pain is a response that our body has. We can get it to respond different.

In the new covenant, we are new creations in Christ. We are not under the law. Jesus fulfilled the law and the prophets. The law is not abolished, it is fulfilled. We now live in the law of love. However, the law is not bad. It was fulfilled. It was weak in that it could not be fulfilled by flesh. But now we are to be holy, as God is holy, empowered by Him to do His will. We get to walk in love. The difference to me in following the law verses walking in the new covenant, is that when we are living a life that follows the law at all, it is out of response to the love of God, and His Holy Spirit in us.

We get to respond to God’s love with more love. We love because He first loved us it says. We get to love God, and our neighbor as ourselves as our response to God’s love. We get to forgive others, as we have already been forgiven. Cancelling their debt. Of course it is their decision to pick up that forgiveness, to turn away from their ways and turn toward the freedom or not, just like it is our response to God’s forgiveness and love, to turn away from our old ways and turn fully toward Him (that’s what repentance is, it is so positive and worthwhile)!

We get to respond to God’s love with love.

Pain is a response too. Our body is taking in information from out 5 senses, and from our internal systems, and responding with pain, or not. We have to acknowledge God’s amazing love for us, and forgiveness, to respond with repentance and love. We also have to acknowledge what we are leaning on to feel safe to respond with calm and healing, instead of pain.

Pain is a response to the body taking in all the information, and deciding that because of that information, or lack thereof, it is not safe, and it should send pain. Pain is there to try and stop us, to get the body in control, and to get us to react. Pain is there to get our attention.

Let’s just give our body attention anyway, and it will not need to scream as often.

If my body is responding to my spirit and soul to decide to send out pain or not (or other negative responses), I need to get my soul to align with my spirit, and get my body to trust me, and respond to me. I need to be in alignment with the Holy Spirit.

I want my every response to be because I know that I am loved, a chosen child of the King. I want my every response to be because I trust God, and I know He is trustworthy and faithful.  I want my every response to be because I know I am being upheld by His righteous right hand and the word of God.

Say it with me: Thank you so much God for helping me teach my body to respond to you, rather than the world, and the flesh. Thank you, God for being steady and faithful, and steadfast. Thank you for helping me lean into you, steadily, faithfully, steadfastly. Thank you, God, that you help me teach my body that you are trustworthy, and that it doesn’t need to scream about circumstances and environment, but can lean into you, and be upheld. My response is trust!

We do practice teaching our body to trust us, and respond different in my Align Membership if you ever want to join, and get to be helped along in this journey. Join us HERE. But you can do this on your own too! Because we are never, ever alone, the Holy Spirit is with us!
